David Smith: Cubes and Anarchy

This show features Smith's works from the 1930's to his death in 1965. Though he created sculptures, he thought of himself as a painter. The exhibit was designed by an architect, Brenda Levin. I loved the translucent scrims that separated the spaces yet let you see through to the other sculptures and people.

This show is at LACMA until July 24, 2011.
